Vaesen: Mythic Carpathia

Welcome to Mythic Carpathia – a Vaesen version of Central and Eastern Europe. In the 19th century, this region was torn by wars and dominated by three powerful empires – Austro-Hungary, the Kingdom of Prussia and the Russian Empire. They kept a tight grip on the many nations under their rule. Among those nations were countless people from various ethnic groups who had lived on these territories for centuries. They knew what strange creatures populated the night, and they learned, often the hard way, to live with them.

On these pages, you will find historical information about the Slavs and other peoples in the region. You will also learn about one of the most important cities of that time, the wonderful Prague, where the Pravda Society – the local branch of the Society – has its headquarters. From there, brave men and women travel to distant regions of Mythic Carpathia to help people and find ways to deal with the strange creatures of these expansive lands. Some vaesen are native to this region, some came with new settlers, and some grew out of the beliefs of religious people. It’s a vast and strange territory, full of dangers and wonders.
